I don't believe that PBS does, I believe it only sends the signal to the 
process on the mother superior and relies on that to propagate them through 
to any children. Hence why this is important. :-)

I would have said the former is more intuitive, but you could have the later 
as a command line/compile time option (in the same manner as the -comm is 
handled).
