MPICH Question

I have a question about using MPICH.  I probably have no business asking you
this question since I'm not using mpiexec, but I 've had no luck getting
answers elsewhere, and hope you can help.

I have installed MPICH on my shared-memory processor (a Dell Enterprise
server with 4-Xeon 2.4 GHz processors, running Red Hat Linux).  I configured
it using the "--with-device=ch_p4" and "--with-comm=shared options".
However, when using mpirun my applications are still running in
distributed-memory mode, rather than shared-memory mode.

Any ideas what may be wrong?
