problems with mpiexec-0.68 & mpich-gm-1.2.4..8a

It appears they changed the API for job startup with the latest MPICH-GM
release.  GMPI_MAGIC is not a variable we'd had to deal with up to now.
I was afraid of that when I read the announcement from Myricom.

Unless someone volunteers to figure this out, I'll try to take a look at
it myself tomorrow.  A proper fix will have to include a configure
option to specify which version of the MPICH-GM code is on the machine
too.  Ugh.
